Lately I've been listening to Let Freedom Ring, a new product from Vision Forum. I've really been enjoying the talks which were recorded during the Philadelphia Faith and Freedom Tour in 2005. Presently I'm studying this time period in school, and it's really neat to have this new product come out in the midst of my studies!

The talk that appealed to me the most was a joint lecture by Mr. Phillips and Mr. Potter at the site of Washington's Crossing of the Delaware. The tide of American independence was at its lowest ebb when Washington formulated his plan. In the middle of winter, and in the midst of an ice storm, he crossed the Delaware River with his rag-tag army to surprise the Hessian forces at Trenton. Involved in Christmas celebrations, they were surprised, and the majority captured or killed. This victory, though not huge militarily speaking, boosted the sinking morale of the Continental troops and inspired the country with new hope. The most amazing thing about the Battle of Trenton is that only three colonial soldiers were killed in the fighting, when off plundering the town.

Mr. Phillips and Mr. Potter truly bring history alive with their fascinating descriptions of battles and sharing little-known stories and facts from the time. Some other topics in the Let Freedom Ring series include: Early-American architecture, Princeton College's impact on the Revolutionary War, the life of John Witherspoon, and the Battle of Brandywine, to name a few.

Through Vision Forum's affiliate program, we can offer a copy of Let Freedom Ring to one of our readers! We're really excited about this opportunity. Simply enter a comment with a couple sentences about why you'd like this album and we'll randomly choose a winner!

~John
