As I wrote in a previous post, we as a family enjoy keeping traditions. Well there is once tradition we'd really like to break - having a member of the Horn family take a trip to the Emergency Room during the first week of January.

Last year it was John receiving stitches in his head resulting from a tug-of-war game on New Year's Day. This year, Mom was the lucky victim.

While hiking with John on a challenging trail in a nearby wilderness park, Mom slipped on some leaves coming down a steep portion of the path. She heard something pop in her wrist as she attempted to brace her fall and was in a considerable amount of pain. Thankfully she had the cell phone with her, and John was able to call Dad at work. Dad and Tim drove to the park, helped Mom down the remainder of the trail, and Dad proceeded to take Mom to the ER.

John and I later drove to the hospital and waited with Mom and Dad for the official prognosis of the condition of her wrist. Broken in two places, Mom's wrist is now in a splint and sling as she awaits her appointment with an orthopedic doctor tomorrow for probable casting.

We are so grateful for God's mercy in that it was "only" her wrist and not a rib or some other even more painful injury. Mom is such a trooper and never complains, but these next weeks will be challenging due to lack of mobility especially as the injury was to her right hand.

Thank you for your prayers.

It must be contagious! Brenda was thrown from a horse on Jan 4th. A separated shoulder, a cracked rib, and LOTS of bruises. Monique says Hi!
Have a great day w/ the Lord!

A very elxclusive one Mrs. Horn :) Mom, says she hopes you will mend quickly, and that she is praying for you.

With a list like that, I think that Mrs. Hoffman could be elected president of our club! :) Hope she feels well soon.
